Favourite place to eat in the area. Been working my way through the menu for the past couple months and my favourites (so far) are the chicken and mushroom fried dumplings, the sichuan spicy chicken wings and the shanghai pork buns. It’s hard to choose to be honest because everything is great. Sometimes they also have specials just not very well advertised, it would be at the back of the room on a board, worth checking. Both specials I had were soups, one was beef and one was pork and they didn’t skimp on the meat. Really really good! They deserve all the praise they get. If you visit make sure to bring cash!
We were craving dumplings, this place popped up and we have zero regrets. The place looks a bit run down, but the food more than makes up for it. Everything we had was absolutely delicious - definitely close off your meal with the coconut buns because YUM!
Decided to try somewhere different and local for lunch with a friend. As per the reviews, we were looking forward to Panda.
Sadly the aubergine and fried tofu dishes were incredibly oily and quite salty. We had the beef mince dumplings which are made in house which were not good. The dough doesn’t taste good and the beef didn’t seem like great quality. The sweetcorn soup was okay but lacked flavour without the chicken. The jasmine tea was great.
As you can see from the photo we didn’t finish much as the food didn’t make us feel good. Won’t be returning.
Panda is the most amazing hidden gem i’ve ever found. Me and my family dine here at least 3 times a month. The dumplings are absolutely delicious (especially the steamed prawn and chive dim sum!!!) and the servers are so so lovely! If you are on the fence about going here, DO IT! You will never look back. Panda is a restaurant to watch…
Panda is great, the dim sum is lovey and so are the other dishes, you will always be welcomed warmly and even if you haven’t booked they will try and fit you in the best they can.
All the dim sum and bun options are great and you can’t go wrong, good vegi options also.
The Chinese broccoli with garlic is great and the double cooked pork.
The staff here are lovey and always happy to help and always have a smile.
It’s BYOB bring your own booze, which is great (lots of shops around to grab a bottle etc).
The decor is very simple but reminded me of some of the best dim sum places in Asia I had visited.
The taste of the food was very similar to that of dim sum in Asia also.
All the food is made there and you can see them preparing the dim sum and other dishes.
Prices are not that bad either, well worth a visit and I will definitely be back.
